Short answer: Escape provides technical support, consultation and custom technology solutions to Macintosh-using companies, often in the prepress, advertising, creative and publishing industries. Escape, a registered Minnesota corporation, is based in Minneapolis/St. Paul.

In April 2002, Escape became the FIRST Twin Cities-area systems integrator certified by Apple as an ACTC (Apple Certified Technical Coordinator). ACTC certification means we have attended Apple training in California and through standardized testing demonstrated exceptionally deep, detailed knowledge and capabilities in the installation, support, and troubleshooting of Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server.

Long answer: Escape is a full service technology provider and integrator. We are particularly well suited to assist your organization with choosing, implementing and supporting redundant storage, high capacity mission critical tape/jukebox backup and permanent archiving, disaster recovery planning, digital asset management, color management, Internet integration and connectivity, calendar and contact management, workflow analysis, workflow automation (via AppleScript). Finally, Escape's extensive customized training allows us to not only help clients more effectively use software, but also to help them become more self-supporting when possible. Services which Escape does not explicitly offer are handled by a number of key industry associates and partners.

Escape is more than a systems integrator. We are industry experts, and as such offer the opinion of peers, not outsiders. We aim to be the premier distiller and broker of knowledge in the industries we serve. We aim to help our clients to achieve and accomplish the most they can with proven technology.

We are plugged in to the latest and greatest, but we aren't prisoners to technology. Sometimes the best solution has nothing to do with new or improved technology.

We are communicators, not geeks. Rely on us to simplify and explain complicated concepts.

Escape's capabilities range far beyond mere break-fix services. We are in the business of helping you, through workflow automation and the clever use of technology, build deeper relationships with your own clients. Sometimes it's by helping you offer new services that differentiate you from your competition, or by helping you offer a better product than your competition, or by helping you produce that finished product more cost-effectively than your competition. Escape's customized solutions can give small organizations advanced capabilities that belie their size. Very few service providers can do integration of this type.

Escape reduces your stress level by freeing your human resources from time-consuming technology-related tasks. We recognize your greatest costs are related to the cost of your own staff. We make it possible for you to be more efficient by having your staff actually do productive work instead of fixing computers and dealing with technology issues. We recognize you have enough issues meeting deadlines, keeping presses rolling, finishing projects, etc. without having to fear your computers failing you.

If you are content to simply get faster Macs and equate that with "keeping up with technology", then you don't need us.

If you seriously believe that the finest in technology is detailed in the pages of MacWarehouse, then you don't need us.

If you believe that Macs can run on autopilot indefinitely and still perform at the level you need them to day in and day out, then you don't need us.

If you believe that a cut-rate "weekend warrior" Mac handyman can support the kinds of technology systems being purchased and installed today, then you don't need us.

We've seen how companies can become trapped or held hostage by technology or, worse yet, by technology consultants. The best solutions--and the ones we love most--are the ones that are open, extensible, well-documented, and curiously enough still require the least amount of upkeep. As much as we'd love a steady revenue stream from things that keep breaking (and requiring our services), that's not the best use of our clients' technology dollars. Our goal in every project is to work ourselves out of a job.

The custom solutions we develop are fully documented and are based on established, open architectures. We'll tell you exactly how they work, and provide paperwork detailing it as well.

Escape can help fix PEOPLE just like it fixes computers. Technology is a tool only as capable as the operator. A well-trained operator often can avoid problems as much as the novice can cause them, and persistent operator error is an easily addressed drain on your technology budget. We will not only fix the problem, but explain why it happened in the first place so your organization isn't doomed to repeat its mistakes.

No one is more qualified to keep your systems working their best day in and day out than Escape. We insist on our staff being Apple-certified, something no other service provider in the Upper Midwest (that we know of) can match.

Escape is about proactive service rather than reactive service--identifying bottlenecks, issues and problems before they develop. We have found that maintaining productive business relationships with our clients is actually quite simple: address issues ahead of time with a modicum of regularly performed preventive maintenance, demonstrate foresight when planning upgrades to client systems, and a whole lot of the following...

We believe technology consultants and systems integrators should be held to the same high standards and level of trust you expect from your attorney or your accountant. To that end, we promise the kind of personal attention and integrity you expect from every professional partner to your business.

Escape has the keys, technologically and literally, to businesses all over the metro area. We're a trusted extension of our clients' staff. Our goal is to have that same level of trust with every customer with whom we come into contact.

One poorly planned update to hardware or software can cause an annoying and expensive domino effect requiring umpteen other updates. These snafus, however, can be anticipated with just a little preparation. You can be sure that Escape will let you know ahead of time what to expect. We will plan solutions with you and your company that are forward-looking, appropriate and cutting edge--and don't turn around and bite you after the fact.

We are partners in technology with our clients. We'll identify what works and what doesn't, and when not to invest any more in a given item. We consider your investment in existing hardware, and whenever possible we continue to use equipment wherever it fits most appropriately. However, if there is a bottleneck that must be addressed, we will work diligently to remedy the situation with a solution that meets your needs and your budget--and realizes the best possible return on your investment. We see what the competition is doing and installing, what capabilities are becoming the norm, and what trends are developing in your industry. We want to bring you the best technology has to offer, and that can only benefit your own clients in the end.
