Hardware Problems For Macintosh Computers Under Warranty
Since virtually all
warranty repairs of any real complexity require the machine to be sent off
to Apple, you can expect to be without your computer for anywhere from 3-10
days. What most service providers won't tell you, though, is that you may have
other options.
As is often the case,
you probably can't afford to be "down" a machine. Escape can often suggest
workarounds that will allow you to delay the repair
to a more convenient time. Perhaps the part that's failed is a common
one, like a hard drive, and going ahead and purchasing a replacement -- even though
your computer is under warranty -- is worth it so you can minimize
down time and avoid further disruption. Sometimes you may even have
an acceptable substitute part laying around your business. Escape
will present you with all your options.
